Description |
This project involved developing a hierarchy to organize
information and interpretation throughout the park and then
developing a range of signage - motivational, informational
and interpretive. |
|
|
|
|
|
The panels at the entrance to the park identify the four major
visitor precincts and motivate and encourage visitors to venture
beyond the known.

The largest entrance panel is an important part of the visitor
experience and orientation and has a multitude of purposes. It
welcomes visitors to the park, briefly outlines the significant
features, identifies the four visitor precincts, delivers important
park messages and identifies visitor facilities and
services.

|
These two panels are in a classic national park information
shelter and provide more site specific information. The four major
walking options are clearly indicated on the panel above
complete with basic walk information. The panel below was
designed to motivate visitors to explore the precinct and provides
basic information on services and facilities.

This is only one of a series of 9 panels used to interpret the
Running Jump Creek, catchment and the Dicksons Falls. The panels
explain plant and animal adaptations to a non-specialist audience
using a fun analogy, hierarchical interpretation, explanatory
illustrations and linking text. The public has responded very
positively to this interpretation.
